From analysis to specification.

If you're managing a retrofit or new construction and need the lighting numbers done right — photometric analysis, ROI modeling, product-neutral specifications — that's the work. No field work, no vendor relationships, no agenda. Canada and the United States.

About

A bit
about me

I'm a Lighting Certified (LC) specialist with over 12 years in photometric design, LaaS financial modeling, controls specification, and energy analysis across Canada and the U.S.

Most lighting analysis happens after a product has already been selected — which means it's justifying a decision, not informing one. I work the other way around. Numbers first, products second. That tends to be the difference between a spec that holds at tender and one that doesn't.

Services

What you
walk away with

Every service is scoped to give you something concrete and defensible — numbers you can put in a report, specifications you can tender, systems you can hand off. Independent and product-neutral.

01
Confident illumination decisions, backed by precise numbers.

Photometric Analysis

AGi32 calculations for interior and exterior applications — coverage, uniformity, illuminance targets, and glare analysis. For commercial, industrial, retail, and roadway projects.

02
Specifications that eliminate scope creep and procurement ambiguity.

Specifications & Tender

Product-neutral fixture specifications, photometric criteria, and tender documentation. No vendor bias — what gets quoted is exactly what the project needs.

03
A clear financial case your stakeholders can approve.

LaaS & ROI Analysis

Lighting-as-a-Service models, energy savings projections, and payback analysis. Defensible numbers that support capital decisions on retrofit and new construction.

04
Specifications your controls contractor can actually build from.

Controls Design & Integration

Specification and design of intelligent controls — DALI, Casambi, Encelium, DMX, 0-10V. Protocol selection, sequence-of-operations documentation, and BMS integration criteria.

05
A factual foundation for your capital investment discussion.

Retrofit & Feasibility

On-site audits, existing system assessments, and retrofit feasibility reports with energy savings modelling and ROI projections — before commitments are made.

06
Compliant, future-proofed roadway lighting that meets the standard.

Roadway & Municipal Lighting

Roadway illumination analysis and specification compliant with MTQ, MTO, and IES RP-8 standards — neighbourhood upgrades through to arterial and highway applications.

Adidas Flagship — Toronto & 4 Retail Locations
The problem: Adidas brand standards require precise beam angles, colour rendering thresholds, and uniformity ratios that most standard fixture layouts can't achieve — and getting it wrong at a flagship means a redo at full cost. Delivered directional photometric designs and controls specifications across five locations, anchored by the Toronto flagship, that met brand criteria before a single fixture was ordered.

MTQ Highway LED Upgrade — First Provincial Adoption
The problem: no LED upgrade had yet passed MTQ scrutiny for highway application in Quebec, so there was no established benchmark to design against. Engineered the first compliant LED corridor from the ground up — photometric modeling, compliance documentation, and full ministry submission package. The design was subsequently adopted as the MTQ provincial standard, now applied to highway lighting across Quebec.

Specialty · Custom System Design · Broadcast
Custom Indirect Angular System — HD Sports Broadcasting
The problem: HD broadcast requires flicker elimination, uniformity ratios, and colour rendering targets that no off-the-shelf fixture combination could satisfy in the given space. Rather than compromising the spec, designed a proprietary indirect angular system from the ground up — custom optics, custom mounting geometry — that met broadcast requirements without exception.
